Another Day Another Dog Walk

solvik urban sketchIMG_4592

I could title this many things….some would be NSFW….as some may know, we have a new edition to the family, a dog. A large dog. Everyday, (that the kids are in school) it is my added chore to take care of this 4 legged beauty, and I do. Today was a beautiful day and I took him for a long leisurely walk along the water, letting him sniff the smell out of everything…and all I wanted was 20 minutes to sit and sketch at Solvik Beach…but no….we couldn’t do that….we had to chew the leash and bark like a maniac.

I got a little on the paper, jumpy from the barking and preoccupied with a leash wrapping up my ankles…

I was really enjoying the fact that it was a beautiful day in May….and…..there were swimmers….in Sweden, in May. Not warm enough for me, even at 24c on the thermometer. but WOW

  1. This is lovely! I’m amazed you were able to put this together, with all that dog business going on! It really looks terrific! (I admire people with dogs; they must be full of patience. This is why I have a cat, lol.) Congrats on your new family member!

  2. Enjoyed your sketch and painting! My cat seems to know when I’m right in the middle of sketching or painting. If I ignore him, he scratches the back of my chair. I’m glad he doesn’t bark. LOL! 🙂

  3. Great drawing, I used to bring dog chews with me when I had my dog out sketching with me, I would then get a couple of moments of calm. They do get used to it, hang in there. As an Australian it would have to be at least 10 degrees warmer before I would put a toe in! Karen
