Six Months….half way there….
Sorry all…. we are alive and well. Well, we are well, no help to the lack of vitamin D! I was warned of the dark days of winter and the cold temperatures. I was not warned about the “GREY”!!! Talk about 50 shades of grey…no, no, not the book….the cloud cover that makes Stockholm home of the winter grey. I was expecting short days of sun….but crisp blue skies and rays of sunlight are few and far between. The mornings are brightening up(with greyness), slowly, but the darkness settles in around 3:30-4pm…still early. The temperatures have been pretty mild, so at this moment the streets are clear of snow and ice. Last weekend we were cross country skiing in Lidingo, but not sure how the conditions will be for that this weekend.
Tomorrow the kids have an Open House at school…They are literally going to school from 9:30am to 12, on a Saturday, and parents are allowed to sit in and see what happens….not anything like the School Open Houses I am used to! I have had parent teacher conferences all week and this will be a nice event to round it out.
George has made a new friend, Olli, who comes from Finland. He lives about 12 stops going west on the train(Bromma), so he lives in the suburbs of Stockholm. George is going to his first football(soccer) training tomorrow with Olli so I am excited for George to get some peer activity.
Other than that, I have been busy planning the itinerary for our trip to Rome!
Yup…..ROME, whoot whoot!!!!!!
So excited….dreams can come true!!! The kids have their February break and we decided that would be a slow tourism time and the temps will be warmer than we are used to (@60 farenheit ), so it is booked!!!! Maybe my recent hiatus from blogging is just to prepare you for the onslaught of pictures that will be exploding from our Rome trip…:) Think picture diarrhea!
So six months in…..half way there….

You are witnessing “The Grey Wolf of Winter has thrown his fur coat over Sweden”. The coat will be shed at Springtime. Have a great trip and yes please shoot lots of pictures and include your excellent narrative. Love from Uncle Lenny (<;
Do I sense a touch of sarcasm?….”excellent narrative”? Impeccable maybe!
Hi Rebecca! Rome! Skiing the Alps! Think of all the items on your bucket list that have been checked off! We’re at Dana Farber for final tests before chemo starts – next week likely, according to the docs. Rain, wind and warm temps have certainly put a link on winter fun here. We’re feeling good, and very upbeat about the outcome! Wanted to attach a pic of Ed reading a Kindle here earlier, but I don’t think it will let me. Love to all!
Hey Frannie…and Ed! Great to hear from you…I would love to see pics…anytime, send via email. He is going to beat this thing like it never had a chance! Keep me posted on the stages and know we are all thinking of you! xoxo…all of us!
